EMPLOYMENT
1st March 99' to present   Web Designer, ilion group plc, Chessington
Responsible to Sales and Marketing Manager for the updating and maintenance of corporate website which specialises in the value added redistribution of networking equipment. I'm currently undertaking the redesign of the company's uk site (http://www.ilion.com/), an on-going task.
This job entails:
* Conversion of marketing material into html and graphics optimised for web use.
* Site maintenance and updating of content supplied by manufacturers.
Technical Skills:
* HTML (Hyper-Text Markup Language) hand coding and more recently using Macromedia's Dreamweaver 2 for page production, working knowledge of Javascript
* Graphic Design using Adobe Photoshop 4, Quark Xpress 4, JASC's Paint Shop Pro 4 & 5, Ulead Smartsaver (for JPEG and GIF optimisation) and Ulead GIF Animator, Microsoft GIF Animator.
* Operating Systems: UNIX (SunOs 5.5), Windows 95, Windows 3.11
* Testing (for web browser / page compatibility) with various browsers (e.g. Netscape & Internet Explorer)
* Microsoft Office 97 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Access)

2nd March 98' to 19th February 1999   Web Designer, Jobsite UK (Worldwide) Ltd, Chichester
Responsible to the Resources Manager for the conception, development and implementation of client specified web sites, pages and on-line graphic designs. The entire design cycle is followed to market lead schedules. Currently I'm studying Java Programming in an evening class.
Recent Achievements:
* Designing and implementing joint branded pages with Lycos UK
* Implementing the Corporate Identity of clients in on-line display advertising, recently for Cadburys and Barclays Bank.
This job entails:
* Liaison with clients to establish design briefs, requirements, etc.
* Organisation of the production of web pages, combining HTML coding and graphics.
* Arranging client reviews, using all feedback to refine, progress and finish design work
* Obtaining client approval, placing completed designs onto servers for access over the internet
* Designing and realising new functional areas on the company web site, http://www.jobsite.co.uk
* Liaison with Jobsite's On-line and Off-line Marketing Assistants to promote the companies services
Interpersonal Skills:
* Team working - consulting with Sales and Technical staff to produce appropriate client based solutions
* Client consultation - acquiring appropriate input in order to receive design approval and satisfaction
* Business relations - dealing with 3rd party suppliers to maintain a co-productive relationship
I have to leave this job due to the extreme difficulties travelling to Chichester causes.

5th Feb 96' to 15th Feb 98': Technical Author, Ericsson UK Ltd, Burgess Hill
Responsible to the Senior Software Engineer for the learning of software systems and the authoring of technical manuals for use by end users as on-line (intranet based) and off-line reference and procedural material.
This job entailed:
* Consulting with software engineers and end user on-site engineers to learn software systems and procedures
* Authoring technical manuals for both client (end user) and internal use (for training and maintenance)
* Conversion of Microsoft Word documents to web based documentation for remote use by engineers
* Updating and distributing previous system manuals when updates and revisions were required
Technical Skills:
* Extensive use of Microsoft Word 6.0, also Excel, Powerpoint and Access
* HTML
* UNIX (SunOs 4.3, XWindows on Sun SPARC Workstations), Windows 95 and Windows 3.11
* Software testing (Module, Integration and System)
I left this job due to redundancy, caused by closure of the Business Unit.

6th June 94' to 15th January 96': Various temporary assignments during holidays from education with various companies, for example American Express, BT, Ericsson UK Ltd, Family Assurance.
